Atomic Machines, Inc. seeks a Chemical Lab Technician in Emeryville, CA, to perform the following job duties: Assist in the development and optimization of new laboratory procedures and methods, collaborating with cross-functional teams, including scientists, engineers, and manufacturing personnel; Prepare chemical solutions for both manual processes in a chemical fume hood and automated processes run on machines; Analyze and interpret experimental data and prepare reports summarizing findings for review by team members and supervising staff; and Train taeam members on chemical processes and safety protocols, staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and safe handling procedures related to chemical laboratory work.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or a foreign equivalent in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, or other closely related degrees, and knowledge or experience in the following skills: Analytical chemistry techniques, including LCMS, GCMS, NMR, IR, and DLS; Authoring standard operating procedures (SOPs); Safety protocols and hazardous waste disposal; Chemical inventory, organization, and EHS protocols; Safe operation of heated instruments; Optical profilometry, SEM, and x-ray instrumentation; Materials characterization; and Handling hazardous chemicals, acids, bases, corrosives, and flammables. Knowledge may be gained through education or work experience.
