Finz is building AI-native operating finance for real economy businesses. We help operators get better control over cash, costs, and margin by connecting finance with daily operations.

We are looking for a Data Engineering Intern to help build a multi-tenant data lakehouse from the ground up. This role is best suited for a Master’s student, recent graduate, or early-career data engineer with hands-on experience in data engineering, cloud data systems, and analytical data modeling.

You will work on the core data foundation: ingestion, storage, data cleaning, reconciliation, governance, master data management, entity resolution, and trusted serving layers.

What You’ll Do

– Help build a multi-tenant data lakehouse architecture from scratch
– Design raw, cleaned, curated, and serving data layers
– Build ETL/ELT pipelines using Python and SQL
– Model structured business data for reporting, workflows, and downstream AI systems
– Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and reconciliation logic
– Build master data models for companies, locations, vendors, customers, products, accounts, and transactions
– Support entity resolution across messy and duplicate records
– Design tenant-safe data structures for multiple businesses and portfolios
– Create audit-friendly tables with lineage, timestamps, source tracking, and change history
– Document schemas, data flows, assumptions, and technical decisions

What We’re Looking For

– Master’s student, recent graduate, or early-career data engineer
– 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, backend engineering, or cloud data systems
– Strong Python and SQL skills
– Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and AWS S3
– Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines
– Strong understanding of data modeling for analytical and operational data
– Experience with data quality checks and validation frameworks
– Experience with dbt for data transformation and modeling
– Experience with Delta Lake for lakehouse storage and versioned data
– Understanding of multi-tenant data architecture
– Exposure to entity resolution or master data management
– Strong documentation habits and ability to work independently

Please include a short cover letter highlighting data engineering project you have built and the technical architecture behind it, especially any work related to lakehouse design or multi-tenant systems.
