JOB TITLE: Engineering Intern
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Research and analyze data such as customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine the feasibility of the design or application. Identify potential design solutions; generate design concepts and system layouts in CAD; develop detailed design of components, assemblies, and drawings. Work with the Product Management, Marketing, and Sales departments to define and refine user needs and design specifications and complete design requirements according to customers’ specifications. Work cross-functionally with manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to draft assembly work instructions and develop packaging specifications for custom single-use assemblies. Draft Engineering Change Notices and get them reviewed and approved by the stakeholders. Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) and in-process inspection in the cleanroom. Test execution, including, but not limited to, test method validation, test fixture design, verification test protocol, and report release. Familiarize with process validation procedures and techniques (IQ, OQ, and PQ) and draft documentation and test reports for new products, processes, and equipment. Support design controls of new product development projects from concept to product launch per ISO regulations for Bio-Process devices/equipment. Develop test methods and acceptance criteria. Create design specifications for finished parts in compliance with quality system and regulatory requirements, as well as industry standards. Interact with customers, vendors, and partners as needed to communicate design requirements and ensure the quality and accuracy of parts or prototypes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Theoretical and practical knowledge of mechanical engineering, including experience with design, prototyping, fabrication, materials, and manufacturing. Adept in SolidWorks or other Parametric Modeling and Product Data Management software. Familiarity with drafting standards. Knowledge of GD&T is a plus. Must be able to handle multiple tasks/projects and manage priorities accordingly. Self-motivated and flexible, able to work within a team and as an individual. Willingness to take charge and offer opinions and direction in a pace-setting and participative work environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate to all levels of an organization.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Experience with Microsoft Office Applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
All interns will spend the first 30 days of their internship learning about Foxx LIfe Sciences by working in the Clean Room.
