POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Intern to support our manufacturing operations and process improvement initiatives. This hands-on internship offers exposure to real-world engineering challenges and the opportunity to make a measurable impact on production efficiency and quality.
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBITIES:
- Lead improvement projects and participate on improvement teams that drive measurable outcomes
- Assist in the design, testing, and implementation of manufacturing processes and equipment improvements.
- Collect and analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or quality concerns.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other industrial engineering methodologies.
- Help create and update work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and design engineering.
- Participate in daily manufacturing meetings and contribute engineering insights.
- All other duties as assigned
DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, assembly, or injection molding preferred.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on production environment.
- Passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods of time. Must have good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
