Position Summary:
- Develop innovative solutions to improve or create new manufacturing processes.
Main Job Responsibilities:
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to improve manufacturing areas.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, and equipment layout.
- Assure product quality by designing robust assembly and test procedures.
- Develop tooling and fixtures for new products or processes.
- Prepare documentation for new manufacturing processes and engineering procedures.
Projects:
- Analyze complex processes to determine potential improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate data collection for standard work and work instruction updates.
- Conduct test runs to validate capability of new manufacturing processes.
- Create tooling and assembly drawings for process improvements.
- Coordinate sample part builds and testing for cost reduction projects.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Basic computer skills
- MS Office Suite
- 3-D modeling experience
- Hands on mechanical or trades experience is a plus.
Outcomes / Results:
- Understand how to validate and launch new processes.
- Acquire a solid background on a wide variety of welding, brazing, machining, and assembly processes.
- Achieve a better understanding of the duties and expectations of a Manufacturing Engineer.
