The Downstream Process Development Co-op will join a diverse team of scientists and engineers, focused on the development and optimization of recovery and purification processes for biotherapeutics. The candidate would work with key scientists in a fast-paced laboratory environment to develop process steps and solve problems for a wide variety of biotherapeutic constructs to fuel early and late stage clinical trials. The established technologies the candidate may contribute to include cell removal, chromatography, viral clearance and ultrafiltration, while targeting high purity and high yield processes. Additionally, emerging technologies and future innovative process options are continually being evaluated by this downstream process development group. The primary deliverables of the Bioprocess R&D Purification group are development, scale-up and transfer of processes for proteins, vaccines and novel constructs to enable clinical supply manufacturer of new biotherapeutics, with the goal of targeting un-met medical needs while meeting regulatory requirements of various worldwide geographies.
Primary Responsibilities
As part of Pfizer’s Biotherapeutics Downstream Process Development group, responsibilities will include:
Laboratory scale purification of new clinical products.
Analytical assay execution and sample submission.
Evaluation of new technologies and tools in purification and process monitoring.
Proficient documentation of experimental procedures and results, writing of internally reviewed technical reports, and oral presentation to scientists and management.
Support technology transfer of development processes and new technologies into clinical manufacturing

Work Location
The Downstream Process Development Co-op is expected to be on site for all working days throughout the duration of the contract.
